Peninsula United Church, a progressive, community-oriented church in South Surrey/White Rock requires an Administrative Assistant to join our staff. This part-time administrative position is intended to support the work of ThirdSpace, a community-focused ministry, and to relieve the ministers and volunteer leaders of some administrative duties. ThirdSpace is a community ministry, which operates out of a storefront location in White Rock, that engages the wider community through a range of programs and community partnerships (see  

Primary Duties:

  • Administrative assistant to ThirdSpace Manager
  • office administration & communication
  • facilities management
  • volunteer coordination  

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills, able to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and multi-tasking
  • Strong skills with office applications such as MS Word, Google Suite and spread sheets
  • Strong people skills – sensitive, helpful and able to work well with a wide diversity of people
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Supportive of progressive, inclusive values and faith
  • Minimum of 2 years college or equivalent work experience required  

Employment Terms:

  • Average of 12 hours/week, some fixed and some flexible hours
  • Starting wage $20 per hour; 6 month probation period
  • Located in South Surrey/White Rock
