Peninsula United has been recognized as an Affirming Ministry by Affirm United/S’Affirmer Ensemble, a United Church-affiliated organization dedicated to justice, especially for the support of all gender identities and sexual orientations. This means we are open to ALL who wish to attend or participate in our church activities.

In 2022, Peninsula United became an Affirming congregation within the United Church of Canada after a thorough process. We celebrated this milestone on PIE Sunday, March 13th, 2022, with guest speaker Ernie Klassen advocating for LGBTQIA2S+ support. Despite COVID-19 restrictions, we distributed homemade tarts and participated in Pride events, including raising our banner at City Hall.

Affirming Statement

Peninsula United warmly embraces all individuals without discrimination based on various factors, including age, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, expression, neurotype, ability, marital status, culture, family type, or socio-economic status.

We're committed to becoming an inclusive faith community, embracing God's love, welcome, and justice for everyone. We partner with organizations like PFLAG and Sources, inviting more members to join our Affirming Team.
