A simple, steady way to support the ministry, mission, and community you care about.

This May, Peninsula United Church is joining the wider United Church of Canada in marking PAR Month—a time to focus on one of the simplest and most reliable ways to support the work of the church: Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR).

At the same time, we’re also introducing something new in how we share our life together. Over the coming months, you’ll notice monthly themes woven through our newsletters, Sunday worship, website, and social media. Each month will highlight a different part of our shared ministry—how we give, serve, grow, and belong.

We begin with PAR, because it quietly makes so much of that possible.

What is PAR?

PAR is a simple way to give monthly through an automatic withdrawal from your bank account. It allows you to support Peninsula United Church—and the wider mission and service of the United Church of Canada—on a steady, ongoing basis.

Rather than remembering envelopes or responding to weekly fluctuations, PAR helps you set a consistent intention for your giving. It’s not about the size of the gift as much as the rhythm of it: steady, dependable, and aligned with what matters most to you.

Why PAR matters

Life doesn’t always follow our plans. Travel, illness, busyness, or unexpected expenses can easily interrupt even the best intentions to give.

PAR helps remove that barrier.

For you, it offers simplicity and consistency. For the church and the ministries it supports, it provides something just as important: stability. Knowing there is a dependable flow of support allows us to plan, respond, and serve with greater confidence.

In practical terms, PAR helps sustain:

  • Worship and ministry at Peninsula United Church
  • Pastoral care and community support
  • Outreach and justice initiatives
  • The broader work of the United Church of Canada through Mission and Service

It’s easy to set up

If you are already part of a United Church community, setting up PAR is straightforward.

Complete the PAR Authorization Form and submit it to our Offering Envelope Secretary. If you have questions or want to talk it through, you can also connect with our Treasurer.

You can choose how much you’d like to give to Peninsula United Church, and how much you would like to direct toward broader mission and service work that supports communities locally and globally.

If your circumstances change

We know financial situations shift over time. PAR is flexible.

If you ever need to adjust your giving—whether increasing, decreasing, or pausing—simply contact the Treasurer or Envelope Secretary and we’ll help you make those changes.

A shared invitation

PAR is not about obligation. It’s about participation.

It’s one way we express shared care for this community and the work we are called to do together.

If you’d like to explore PAR or have questions about giving at Peninsula United Church, you can also reach the Stewardship Team directly at give@peninsulaunited.com.

Thank you for the many ways you already support this community. Whether through PAR, weekly offering, volunteering, or presence, your contribution matters.
