Maundy Thursday – April 18, 5 pm to 7 pm Sunnyside Site
“Maundy” comes from a Greek word translated as ‘commandment’. It refers to the commandment Jesus gave to his disciples while washing their feet, “A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another”. (John 13: 34) Join us as we remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples. Worship will include communion and foot or hand washing for those who wish. A simple meal of soup and buns will follow.
Good Friday – April 19, 10 am Crescent site
While this is one of the most heart-wrenching worship services in the Christian year, it is also one of the most important. Through music, scripture and prayer we will enter into the story of Jesus’ last days and his brutal death on the cross, in order to prepare ourselves to receive once again the life altering good news of redemption and life which arises from death.
Easter Sunday – April 21
8 am – Blackie Spit (Crescent Beach) We will gather at the north end of the Parking Lot on McBride Ave to celebrate the dawning of the good news of Easter – the tomb is empty: Christ is Risen. Hallelujah! Dress warmly and bring a lawn chair if you wish to sit during this outdoor celebration. Coffee/Hot Chocolate and Hot Cross Buns will follow.
10 am at Crescent site – Joyful Easter celebration with communion. As part of our Celebration of the Resurrection we will be decorating a wooden cross with spring flowers. If you are able, please bring some daffodils or other spring flowers from your garden to the 10 am worship service at the Crescent site.
