Our friends at Cloverdale United Church are hosting a beautiful and powerful performance of The Seven Last Words of Christ by Joseph Haydn on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 7:30 pm (Lent 5, the Sunday before Palm Sunday).
Regarded by Haydn as one of his finest works, this oratorio brings together drama, reflection, and spiritual depth. With professional-level soloists, a double string quartet, and guest choir, the evening promises to be both musically outstanding and spiritually immersive.
For those walking through the season of Lent, this concert offers a meaningful way to pause, reflect, and enter more deeply into the story at the heart of our faith. For classical music lovers, it is a rare opportunity to hear this remarkable work performed live.
This is one of only four performances in Metro Vancouver in March 2026 — and the only one taking place in the South-of-the-Fraser (Delta–Surrey–Langley) region. It is also the only performance hosted by a United Church congregation.
All ticket sale proceeds above costs will be donated to the Surrey Women's Centre. As we remember the sufferings of Christ during Lent, we are invited to respond with compassion and action — supporting and empowering those in our own community who are experiencing violence.
Tickets and full details are available online through TicketTailor or on the Cloverdale United Church website:
We encourage you to consider attending, inviting a friend, and supporting both sacred music and an important local ministry of care.
