Are YOU the one we’re looking for, with the interest and skills to become our next church treasurer? This is a volunteer role and a voting position on the SLC, the governing body of the congregation. The SLC meets approximately every second month on a scheduled basis, and occasionally in between as business arises. You’ll join a small finance team including envelope secretary, offering count coordinator, investment portfolio Trustee, and bookkeeper (staff member). Support is also provided by the Minister and the Operations Manager (staff member). 

The Treasurer works closely with our bookkeeper, and liaises with Trustees on larger financial matters. And, importantly, our current treasurer Sharon Birney is willing to stay on as Co-Treasurer for 6-8 months to familiarize you with the Treasurer’s role and duties.

Skills and attributes:

  • Some financial experience including looking at financial statements, balance sheets, and budgeting.
  • Caring for/interest in the financial health of the congregation.If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to chat.
