Text: Psalm 104 (NRSV)
Reflection Questions & Prayer Prompts
- It was pointed out that some of the ancient assumptions about the universe in this psalm - the flat earth, the hard dome of the sky, with stars embedded in it, the waters above it that flow through holes to become rain. How does it make you feel to see these "errors" in scripture, and to know that God didn't see it as a priority to "correct" their worldview?
- Do you ever go out into nature and "pray with your eyes open"? Which particular ecosystems, areas, plants, animals, or even facts about the universe tend to naturally inspire you to worship God?
- In what ways do you see yourself as a cultivator and co-creator with God, in your everyday life? What is the raw material that you regularly bring order and beauty to? Are there any new aspects of co-creation that you feel compelled to experiment with?
