Apocalyptic Wildfires – What are they revealing?
The wildfire season in British Columbia has become more prolonged and intense, and we have recently experienced several mega-fires (>40,000 ha).
What are the respective roles of decades of fire suppression, current forestry practices, and climate change? How can we reduce the risk of wildfires?
At the next Climate Conversations we will have a special guest, Bob Gray, who will help us explore these questions. Bob is a frequent commentator in the media on wildfire science because of his extensive field experience.
