Ways in which you can become involved and help to change the world.

Justice and Service Updates (December 7, 2021):

Extreme Weather Response Shelter

The EWS for those experiencing homelessness is at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, on Emergency Weather nights only.

As of Nov 30, 2021 the  Shelter has been open for 25 nights and provided 193 individuals experiencing homelessness a safe, warm refuge from the rain and cold.   We are grateful for the generous food, clothing and toiletry donations from the community including Peace Portal Alliance, Sources Food Bank, Hospice, Peninsula United Church members, and many others.  Please pray for those in need and for better solutions to end  homelessness.

Community Dinners

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the search for a site for the Community Dinners will not continue at this time. Many thanks to Donna Roy for all her efforts to try locate a site. The search will continue when it is considered safe to offer these meals.  If you would like to volunteer for a local organization delivering meals to folks in White Rock and South Surrey, please contact Kathy Booth.  Several people from the congregations are volunteering for this important ministry.

Tierra Nueva - our Sister Community in El Salvador:

Cheryl Lightowlers maintains weekly contact with the community through email and learns of their many challenges including a lack of necessary food items and transportation.

We need your prayers and welcome your questions for all this Missional and Ecumenical work of the church.
