Justice and Service Update: Sept 23, 2020

In March 2020 Star of the Sea Hall closed it’s site for the Peninsula United Community Dinners and the Extreme Weather Shelter. The Star of the Sea hall also announced that these two vital ministries of the church would need to find a new “home” as the Star of the Sea requires their hall for the Secondary School.

The following is an update on Justice and Service ministries of Peninsula United Sept 2020.

  • Community Dinners - We have not obtained a new site for the dinners at this time due to Covid restrictions. We will be sharing new opportunities for our many volunteers where they can assist with meeting nutritional needs of the vulnerable folks in our community.
  • Extreme Weather Shelter - Peace Portal Alliance Church has very generously offered to host the Shelter this year.  Address:  15128 27B Ave Open daily  8 pm to 7 am, November to end of March. Click here for more information.
  • Tierra Nueva - our Sister Community in El Salvador: Cheryl Lightowlers maintains weekly contact with the community through email and learns of their many challenges including a lack of necessary food items and transportation.
