As a church grounded in compassion, justice, and faithful presence, we invite you to listen closely to a heartbreaking testimony from Gaza—one that connects us across distance and faith traditions.

Earlier this year, the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza City was bombed. Two lives were lost, and several others were injured—including Christian clergy and their Muslim neighbours. Among the injured were:

  • Father Gabriel Romanelli, a priest known for his daily pastoral care, who had been in regular contact with Pope Francis during the last 18 months.
  • Edward, a driver for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), and a member of the Holy Family congregation.
  • Carlos Antone, Edward’s three-year-old son.

Edward’s story is not isolated—it’s one of many shared by MSF workers trying to survive and serve in the midst of devastation. You can read firsthand accounts here:

Edward has also spoken publicly before. A previous tragedy in his family, also centred around his church, is documented in this short video (only 700 views to date). We hope every congregation in the world will hear his story. Let’s start by sharing it in our own communities:
