Surrey City Council voted on November 17 to reject the proposed Affordable, Supportive, and Complex Care housing for the Peninsula. Instead, Council has asked staff to revise the plan to include Affordable Housing only.
We are grateful to the many members of our congregation who spoke up, wrote letters, attended meetings, and championed this essential project. Your commitment reflects our shared belief that every person deserves a safe and dignified place to live.
At this time, there is no housing plan in place for our unhoused neighbours. This remains a deep concern for us as a faith community committed to caring for all, especially those who are most vulnerable. Our advocacy will continue, grounded in compassion, justice, and the call to love our neighbours in real and practical ways.
If you would like more information or wish to join our advocacy group, please contact Kathy Booth at justiceandservice@peninsulaunited.com.
Please keep our unhoused neighbours in your prayers as we continue this important work together.
